I am a clinical psychologist specializing in psychotherapy for a range of issues. I have a particular interest in working with individuals who are concerned about their use of substances. I also work with family members who are concerned about a loved one’s substance use.
I have a diverse background and extensive training. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a Master’s Degree in Fine Art from Stanford University. I continued my education with a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Columbia University and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. While in Boston, I was clinically trained at Cambridge Hospital, Harvard Medical School as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team specializing in co-occuring and dual diagnosis mental health and substance use disorders. I then completed my pre-doctoral internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City with specialized training in substance use disorders. I followed this with a year long Postdoctoral Fellowship in Addictions at the Addiction Institute of New York at St Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital (currently Mount Sinai West). I was a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center from 2008 through 2022 and I am currently an Assistant Clinical Professor (voluntary) at Weill Cornell Medicine / New York Presbyterian Hospital.
